Loch Lomond Cottages required a website to showcase their two weekly let cottages.
When designing the site I made use of large header images to give visitors to the website a feel for the cottages and the beautiful surrounding area.
The website includes a contact management system and a real time web booking system. The real time booking system allows employees
to easily view, add and alter bookings and it gives visitors to the website up to date availability information. For the photo gallery
I made use of Lokesh Dhakar's fantastic Lightbox script to allow users to
easily browse through images of the cottages. The admin interface was programmed using PHP and MySQL.
The newly redesigned Scotlight Direct website has been my biggest project to date. Scotlightdirect is an online lighting superstore, selling light fittings
to retail and business customers across the UK. The site required a simple and professional design and an easy way for customers to navigate through
several product categories. The site also required the integration of a payment system and a back end admin system to manage products and orders. The site was designed
using xhtml/css and the back end was programmed using PHP and mysql. During this project I worked closely with an SEO company to ensure that the site was
well optimized and would appear in good positions in the search engines.
Forsyth's is a long established family butchers and bakery business set in the
Scottish Borders. Due to a high demand for their products they often find themselves with queues stretching out the door and down the High Street.
The solution was a website on which customers could place their order online and choose either to have it delivered direct to their door or
packed up and available for quick collection at the shop. The site required an easy way for customers to shop for products and pay online.
I also designed a custom management system that allows Forsyth's to keep their web prices up-to-date with their shop systems.
